Southwest thinks you're a loser if you've cut back on your travel

Hey, you recession-addled wimps, how about manning up and buying some plane tickets? That's the challenge put forth this summer by Southwest Airlines. Ads from GSD&M show consumers heading off to fly wherever they want to, recession be damned. "We don't fly around tough times. How about you?" a voiceover challenges. As they utter "It's on!" to passersby, you can be forgiven for thinking they're actually heading off to get their meds, but trendspotters take note: This may be the first of the "Screw you, recession" ads we've seen. As more Americans get bored with counting every penny (face it, it's not our thing), expect to see more.
