Talented bakers of America, heads up: Flowers Bakeries is running a promotion to find the first "real" spokesperson behind its Mrs. Freshley's snack-cake and pastry brand. They're conducting a search in a Facebook contest titled "Who is Mrs. Freshley?" As this will be the first time Mrs. Freshley's has had a brand spokeperson, the company is keeping its options open. (She could be an 85-year-old grandmother who whips up crème brûlées from scratch or an aspiring 22-year-old baker who's just learning the ropes.) Flowers Foods brand manager explains: "Through the years, our customers have had a direct hand in shaping our products so asking them to help define the personality behind the brand makes sense." To sweeten the deal, Flower Bakers is giving both the winner and the person who nominates him or her a couple of nice, big AmEx gift cards: for $1,500 and $500, respectively.
