Wonder Bread's online tool lets you build healthier sandwiches

Wonderizer

The folks who make Wonder Bread have kindly informed us that they’ve released a new online tool, the Sandwich Wonder-izer, that lets you create virtual sandwiches from more than 120 ingredients—and then calculate their nutritional value. Such an application is likely to catch on, as Americans have been brown bagging a lot more during the recession. (Oh, wait. We’re supposedly heading into better times, remember?) BrandFreak—which is prone to tossing six slices of turkey, provolone cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and a squirt of mayo onto some pita bread during writing crunches—is delighted. We whipped up a virtual sandwich made of Wonder Whole Grain White Bread, a tablespoon of fat-free mayonnaise, chicken breast, tomato, iceberg and green leaf lettuce, American cheese and some dill pickles, and discovered the combination was actually pretty good after all. We'll use the social-media function to send said sandwich to our Facebook friends later today, so they can all get the 5 o'clock munchies.
