Beatles to be made available digitally, just not the way you want

The-beatles

Yet another repackaging of the Beatles' music was announced today. This time, consumers can shell out $279.99 for an apple-shaped USB port containing the remastered Beatles albums, documentary footage and other goodies. Only 30,000 of world's most expensive stocking stuffers are being made. Still, the Fab Four, who have become the musical equivalent of a money tree, have yet to give us what we really want for Christmas. That would be the ability to actually download the music from iTunes. It seems Apple and Apple Corps Ltd. have some bad blood between them, which has accounted for at least part of the hold-up. This leaves us with the unfortunate alternative of using some goofy apple-shaped jump drive, which folks are destined to lose, to download some of the greatest songs ever written. Makes me want to belt out "Yer Blues."
