Gorillas and women tag-teaming on spa's hair-removal campaign

Posted on Mon Jul 27 2009

Bliss

Bliss spa is deploying gorillas (well OK, people in gorilla suits) to the streets of New York City to combat unwanted hair. For two days next week, a mixed squad of gorillas and women, all in bikinis, will hand out waxing coupons and product samples to promote Bliss's hair-removal services. The half-furry and half-smooth troop will hit high-traffic targets between the Sephora in Times Square and the Crunch gym on Lafayette Street. Members of the Bliss marketing department will join up to picket hair with signs declaring, "We're wild about hair removal." The spa chain got the idea for the program after someone misspelled "guerrilla" during a budget meeting. Lucky for them, not so lucky for the employees walking around on a hot August day in a gorilla suit. UPDATE: Here's a video from the campaign.
