Explosions! Guns! Girls! Brace yourself for Friday nights on Fox
Posted on Fri Feb 6 2009After we all sat through all those ho-hum NBC promos on Super Bowl Sunday (Patricia Arquette lip-syncing, really?), Fox has given us one that we want to see over and over. In a hat tip to Quentin Tarantino and the '70s grindhouse scene, Fox has spliced together this intentionally rough-around-the-edges one-minute ad for its upcoming Friday night shows Dollhouse and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The ad tells us that these two female-driven shows are "hotter than Hades" and feature "the dames of deception." And if we're one of the cool kids, we'll el fuego our Fridays starting Feb. 13. (There's lots of face time for the gorgeous stars Eliza Dushku and Summer Glau.)
Friday is a notoriously tough night to get an audience, especially for series with a young-adult target. Fox did it years ago with The X-Files, and now the network's trying to get that mojo back. This spot, which we caught during an episode of Nip/Tuck on FX, certainly can't hurt. It knows to whom it speaks.
