Every vegan's favorite, veal, tries to find a marketing hook
Posted on Fri Feb 20 2009Pork is the other white meat. Beef is what's for dinner. Now, veal is looking for that magic marketing hook that will penetrate our brains. The agency behind the meat, Streetmarc Advertising & Marketing, had their work cut out for them. It’s not like they could say “Veal: the meat made from baby milk-fed male calves trapped in a ‘growing stall’ until they are slaughtered and served on a plate with Marsala wine and mushrooms.” That’s not catchy at all. Instead it went Walt Clyde Frazier approach to branding dubbing it “Delicious nutritious veal." It could be worse, they could have been trying to come up with a tagline to promote liver.
