OK, someone on the Coca-Cola ad team has done some drugs
Posted on Mon Jan 26 2009So, in this new Coca-Cola ad, it isn't strange enough that two students sitting in a library are drawing detailed bottles of Coke and cartoon ice cubes on their arms. Then, the soda actually pours out of the guy's skin into the girl's glass and they both smile. This is obviously a metaphor for something, but the soda looks like sludge and for some reason smacks of, well, smack. The ad is expected to break globally. I can't imagine U.S. consumers appreciating it. Unless, of course, it's some stoned college students watching it at 3 a.m. in a dorm room somewhere. Coke credits Wieden + Kennedy's offices in Portland, Ore., and Amsterdam for its new batch of work. Who wants to bet this work came out of Amsterdam?
