Staycationers will get a kick out of this one.
Kimberly-Clark and ABC's The View have teamed up for their third annual Room-A-Day Giveaway sweepstakes. The packaged-goods company will give away $25,000 for a room makeover to each of 16 winners in February—a prize that's particularly nice these days, given that people are traveling less and staying home more due to the lousy economy.
"This year, we're focusing on ways to make consumers' living space more inviting and more conducive to family time spent at home," K-C's consumer promotions manager, Dawn Bates, tells BrandFreak. Unlike the first two years, this year's sweepstakes is being advertised via consumer print ads, social networking, blogging and word-of-mouth efforts. Room-A-Day is even on Twitter!
The spokesman for the sweepstakes, interior designer Thom Filicia, kicked things off with an appearance on The View this week. The set's dressing room was transformed into a "home away from home" with K-C brands like Viva paper towels and Kleenex tissues.
